When the IH-dependent variables were taken into account in regression analysis, HA levels were found to be independently and negatively associated with the transfusion of RBCs (beta = -0.28, P = 0.00) and blood loss (beta = -0.32, P = 0.00), and positively associated with the number of units of RBCs transfused (beta = 0.07, P = 0.00).
